In 1701, Father de Montfort was considering the possibility of founding a religious order.<\/p>\n
A meeting that took place in the same year proved to be the turning point: his encounter with Marie-Louise Trichet.<\/p>\n
Two years later, in 1703, she became the first Daughter of Wisdom and adopted the name of Marie-Louise of Jesus.<\/p>\n
After the death of Father de Montfort, Marie-Louise came to Saint-Laurent-sur-S\u00e8vre, where she established the Mother House of the Daughters of Wisdom in 1720.<\/p>\n
Until the current building was constructed, the Sisters gathered in a small chapel built in 1782: the Founders’ Chapel.<\/p>\n
Work on the new chapel began in 1860 and continued until 1869. Designed by Nantes architects Faucheur and Boismen, this monument was dedicated to Jesus, Wisdom Eternal in 1888.<\/p>\n
The chapel’s delicately elegant exterior encloses many treasures, including its striking stained glass windows, its pulpit rich in symbolism and its choir closed off with a finely sculpted communion table.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
